MAYOR’S COMMUNICATION

CONDOLENCES

On behalf of Deputy Mayor, Councillors, Management and staff of Miri City Council, Mayor extends deepest condolence to;

  1. Cr Misiah Abdullah on the loss of her beloved husband and her family on the loss of their loved one, and
  2. Cr Kueh Chie Tiong on the loss his mother and his family on the loss of their loved one.

2017 WORLD TOWN PLANNING DAY & WORLD HABITANT DAY CELEBRATION

The Joint Celebration of World Town Planning Day 2017 and World Habitant Day 2017 was held on 11th November 2012 at Puteri Habour, Bandaraya Johor Bahru. The Celebration was officiated by YB Tan Sri Noh bin Haji Omar (Menteri Kesejahteraan Bandar, Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan).

In connection with the above Celebration, Miri City Council has received the Grand Award (1st Placing) for National Scroll of Honour Award plus a cash prize of RM5,000. Miri City Council, on the same occasion, also received Certificate of Appreciation accorded by Eastern Regional Organization for Planning & Human Settlements (EAROPH)

MAJLIS ANUGERAH PERKHIDMATAN CEMERLANG 2016 (2016 STATE EXCELLENT SERVICE AWARD) DAN ANUGERAH SMART COMMUNITY 2017 (2017 SMART COMMUNITY AWARD)

Majlis Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang 2016 (2016 State Excellent Service Award) cum Anugerah Smart Community 2017 (2017 Smart Community Award) was held on Tuesday, 21st November 2017 at Miri.

Miri City Council’s Jawatankuasa Penduduk Zon Pujut is one of three winners for 2017 SMART Community Award under the Platinum Category which come with a trophy, a certificate and cash prize of RM 8,000.00. The award was presented by Yang Berhormat Datu Dr Penguang Manggil, Assistant Minister of Local Government of Sarawak.

Jawatankuasa Penduduk Zon Pujut was selected for their project i.e. night patrol duty scheme and it was recognized by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) in view of the residents’ participation and contribution in assisting the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Miri. And the effectiveness of the program of reducing crime cases.

MIRI CITY CHRISTMAS PARADE 2017 – 9 DECEMBER 2017

Miri City Christmas Parade 2017 will be held on Saturday 9th December 2017 starting at 6.00 p.m. The assembly point will be at Miri City Fan.

A total of 45,000 Christians from 17 churches are expected to take part in this Annual Christmas Parade organised by Miri City Council in conjunction with the churches in Miri.

The Guest of Honour for Miri City Christmas Parade 2017 will launch the celebration at Miri City Fan at 8.00 p.m.

All Councillors and Christian staff are invited to the Event.
