Press Statement - No Dine-In at all Food Shops as from 12 May under the revised CMCO

Under the Revised SOP imposed under Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee updated on 10th May 2021, NO dine-in should be allowed for ALL types of food and drink shops with effect from 12th May 2021 until further notice. Operators could only carry out supply and sale of food and drink items through take-away, delivery or drive-through (Pandu Lalu). The food and drink premises include restaurants, food & drink shops, bistro, cafe and food & drink centres.

Other activities which are also NOT permitted to operate include;

⚫ Massage Centres, SPA and Reflexology Centres,

⚫ Karaoke Centres including family-type Karaoke session,

⚫ Gymnasium (Gym) Centres,

⚫ Premises for carrying out YOGA, Zumba and similar nature of physical exercises, and

⚫ Sport and Recreational activities at public parks and playgrounds such as Miri City Fan as well as along the beaches at Miri/Subis Districts

Miri City Council would like to draw special attention to all operators of food and drink shops under its jurisdiction towards such new procedure. The Council’s Enforcement Teams would continue to be deployed to all such premises so as to oversee that SOP imposed under CMCO have been adhered to including the ban of dine-in. Noted the new nationwide MCO starting from 12th May till 7th June 2021 as announced by YAB Prime Minister of Malaysia, has also banned dine-in in all food & drink premises throughout the country.
