MIRI (Nov 6): Six homeowners here have been served warning notices by the Miri City Council (MCC) after their premises were found to be hoarding excessive amounts of rubbish.

Miri mayor Adam Yii said the action was taken after an inspection visit yesterday morning in response to complaints from the public.

“MCC has directed the owners to clear and clean their respective premises within 14 days from the date of the notice.

“Failure to comply within the stipulated period will result in enforcement action, which may include the issuance of compounds or legal proceedings under the relevant council by-laws,” he told The Borneo Post.

The affected properties are located at Jalan Pujut 4A, Piasau Utara 3C, Jalan Piasau Utara 1, Tudan Phase 1, and Lakeshore Villa off Jalan Sukma, Senadin.
