Terms & Conditions
1. Security Deposit Requirement
- 1 A security deposit of RM500 / RM1,000 / RM2,000 / RM3,000 shall be collected from the event organizer prior to the issuance of approval for the event.
- The deposit must be paid in full before the commencement of the event.
2. Responsibilities of Event Organizer
- The organizer shall ensure the event site and its surroundings are kept clean and free from litter at all times.
- The organizer must provide adequate garbage bins, waste bags, and recycling facilities throughout the event.
- All food waste, packaging materials, and other refuse must be properly collected and disposed of.
- Leftover food or beverage must not be abandoned at the event site and must be disposed of hygienically.
- Grease, oil, or waste water from food preparation must not be discharged into drains, grass areas, or open spaces.
3. Post-Event Cleanliness
- The event site must be thoroughly cleaned and restored to its original condition immediately after the event and no later than twenty-four (24) hours after the event has ended.
- All waste must be removed and disposed of at a designated disposal site approved by Miri City Council.
- Failure to comply with the above will result in forfeiture of the security deposit.
4. Forfeiture of Security Deposit
- The deposit shall be forfeited, partially or fully, if:
- The site is not properly cleaned within 24 hours;
- Garbage or waste is left unattended;
- Food or beverage vendors cause damage or pollution to drains, public property, or the environment;
- Council contractors are required to carry out additional cleaning works due to negligence by the organizer.
- Any additional cleaning cost exceeding RM2,000 shall be charged to the organizer.
5. Refund of Security Deposit
- If the site is found clean and satisfactory upon inspection by Council officers, the security deposit will be refunded in full.
- Refunds shall be processed within 14 working days after the event, subject to Council’s financial procedures.
6. Compliance
- The organizer shall comply with all Council by-laws, public health and safety regulations, and any additional conditions imposed.
- Non-compliance may result in penalties, forfeiture of deposit, withdrawal of event permits, and/or prohibition of future applications.
